FAQ

  • How is Basecamp different than a Co-op? Basecamp Hybrid School is a full year of social studies and science curriculum taught by a highly qualified certified teacher. (Think of it as two subjects off your planning and teaching plate parents!) These subjects are taught two days a week at Basecamp and the other three days at home, your student does their math and LA how you choose. It is a drop off and parents do not have any teaching responsibilities! We do not “teach to a test”, but Basecamp will use the science and social studies Oklahoma State Standards as our spine to create a project-based curriculum. We do this in a child led, project based, group interactive syle. Three times during the school year, students will be encouraged to let their curiosity lead them in something they are passionate about and we will guide them in a passion project. These will be presented at our Basecamp Exhibition Night!

  • How will you grade or assess student’s progress? Assessment is based on comprehension of content and progress throughout the year shown through project based learning.

  • What grades do you offer? K-8th grade will be able to attend Basecamp Hybrid School.

  • How will lunch work? Each child will need to bring a packed lunch, water bottle, and snacks. Kitchen will be available for cooling and heating food.

Where do you meet? We meet in a newly renovated, one room schoolhouse nestled on two acres in Mustang, OK. It is complete with an accessible bathroom, full kitchen, raised bed garden, chicken coops, and an inspiring outdoor classroom.

  • Is Basecamp secular? Yes we are!
