Basecamp Book Club (Heartwood Hotel)

Join us for this sweet story of about discovering the true meaning of home. Mona the Mouse stumbles across the wondrous world of the Heartwood Hotel in the middle of a storm. She desperately hopes they'll let her stay. We will meet four Wednesdays, March 29, April 5th, April 12th, and April 19 from 3:30-5pm for book discussion, activities related to our chapters read, journal sharing, fellowship, and of course FOOD. We want to incorporate all the best parts of a book club in hopes to cultivate the love of them in our readers early on. We will have a book celebration on the last meet date and of course lots of outdoor play!

This book club is for ages 5-9 (roughly grades 2-5th). We encourage our members to keep a reading journal and bring them to book club. This can be anything from a spiral notebook to a small sketch book. You can write down your favorite parts, a word you love or maybe you do not know the meaning of, or even a drawing or painting of your favorite scene! Anything goes! We will share these (or not if your reader does not want to) during our organic book discussions.  Each week will be potluck snack style so bring your favorite snack to share. Drinks will be provided. Grab your copy (audio or hard copy) of Heartwood Hotel A True Home by Kallie George, a reading journal, and happy reading! Sign up HERE .

*We will send out communication via email about chapters to be read before meeting each week and any activities or special things.
